How European organizations from civil society involved in environment protection, in development, in public health, in farming, in consumption and rural development sectors, want to reshape the CAP beyond 2013 ? Forty representatives of civil society organizations from 10 Member States, have attended the workshop on the future of the CAP, in Paris December 11 and 12th, held by the French group CAP in 2013.

This workshop had been an opportunity to discuss futher CAP objectives under different thematical focus, and to converge towards strategies which would be detailed at the beginning of 2009.

New stakeholders organized for the future of the CAP

Dialogue between civil society organizations who want to transform agriculture and to change the Common Agricultural Policy, has taken shape within the group “CAP 2013″. It brings together French NGO’s in environment, international solidarity and sustainable development, and also agricultural organizations.

The group CAP 2013 is a crossroads of dialogue, a forum and a place for reflection and preparation of proposals. It promote an integrated approach to agricultural policy, balancing the objectives of food sovereignty, environmental protection and rural development.

Involved in European discussions, the group 2013 CAP participates in the structuring of a network of civil society organizations in Europe on the future of the CAP. His action follows the path traced by the RAADIS (Network for sustainable agriculture and sustainable, innovative and fair food) between 2002 and 2006.
